“Father, Spirit, Jesus”
Lord, the worship we bring
Is more than songs that we sing
It’s a reflection of our ever-changing lives
The best we have to offer
We don’t just lift up our hands
Lord, we lift up our lives
For we know that You are worthy of our praise
To You our lifesongs raise
Rescued from darkness
We are walking in marvelous light
For we are children of the King!
SING!
You are worthy of all honor
Glory, praise and power
King of the nations
You are holy God almighty
Clothed in brilliant majesty
Father, Spirit, Jesus

The United States has defended its refusal to sell cobra helicopters to Nigeria, saying the Government is free to buy fighter jets from any other country.
“Nigeria has purchased helicopters that originated in countries other than the US and nothing in our decision prevents Nigeria from obtaining weapons and equipment from other sources,” its State Department spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, said on Wednesday.
Psaki was responding to questions from journalists on the allegations by the Nigerian Ambassador to the US, Prof. Adebowale Adefuye, that Washington declined to sell lethal arms to Nigeria.
Adefuye had also told members of the Council on Foreign Relations that Washington was not doing enough to assist Nigeria in combating the Boko Haram insurgency in North-East zone of the country.
He said, “The U.S. government has up till today refused to grant Nigeria’s request to purchase lethal equipment that would have brought down the terrorists within a short time on the basis of the allegations that Nigeria’s defence forces have been violating human rights of Boko Haram suspects when captured or arrested.
“We find it difficult to understand how and why, in spite of the U.S. presence in Nigeria, with their sophisticated military technology, Boko Haram should be expanding and becoming more deadly.”
But Psaki said that the US refused to sell the helicopters to Nigeria due to concerns about the ability of the military to use and maintain them.
The cobra is a combat aircraft with the ability to climb at the rate of 8.2metres per second.
It is equipped with a 20 mm M197 3-barrelled Gatling cannon in the A/A49E-7 turret (750 rounds ammo capacity).
Psaki said there were ongoing concerns about the Nigerian military’s protection of civilians when conducting military operations, adding that these had been discussed with the Nigerian authorities.
The State Department spokeswoman added, “Earlier this year, we denied the transfer of some cobra attack helicopters to Nigeria due to concerns about Nigeria’s ability to use and maintain this type of helicopter in its effort against Boko Haram and ongoing concerns about the Nigerian military’s protection of civilians when conducting military operations.
We shared those concerns with Nigeria before this decision and subsequent to it.
“We’ll continue to look for ways to deepen our cooperation with Nigeria to help it acquire the systems and skills needed to restore peace and security.
But obviously, we’ve provided a great deal of assistance over the past several months.”
Psaki said Washington would not have raised concerns on human rights abuses by the Nigerian military “if we didn’t feel and others didn’t feel that they were warranted

It would be noted that Tambuwal’s move caused a highly-publicized scandal in Nigeria’s politics. Today as he spoke at the 6th anniversary celebration of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, the politician explained that the dumped the ruling party because the system had been “hijacked” by a “cabal”, The Nation reports.
He concluded that such system needed to be changed.
“We have accepted to join the movement of progressives to change the system. The system today is malfunctioning and has failed in several ways. You have to change a system that is not working. We have a cabal that has hijacked the instrument of authority. We should vote them out in February. What do the people of the South South have to show for voting the President? Nothing.”
Tambuwal expressed concern that people from the South South may vote for the leader in 2015 elections based on the sentiments saying however that mere sentiments would not produce a good leader. Thus, the speaker urged people not to be deceived by sentiments.
Meanwhile President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday, November 11, officially declared his interest to run for re-election in February of the next year. His speech was followed by the immediate reaction of the APC.
The opposition party accused GEJ of being insensitive and advancing his political interests only a day after a dire terror attack on Potiskum school killed, according to the latest update, 58 people.

A suspected fraudster, Adekunle Balogun a.k.a Malan Salihu, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over fraudulent dealings involving the sum of $1million USD.
The 44-year- old Ordinary Diploma certificate holder in Textile and Polymer Technology was picked up by operatives of the Commission in Lagos for allegedly duping one Precious Chukwuma Emelue of N100million by deceiving him into believing that, he would assist him in retrieving a sum of $1million from a Pakistani bank:
Kan-Cern Limited, which payment was allegedly stopped by the International Monetary Fund, IMF.
Emelue claimed that, in 2012, he met one Mr. Perry Kandoharty (a Diplomat with the Pakistani High Commission) in Lagos.
In the course of their discussions, Emelue told Kandoharty that he was widely experienced in deep sea fishing.
And after much deliberation, they both agreed to work together on a business.
Emelue would provide land for a fish processing factory in Nigeria and space for the development of fish ponds. Emelue claimed that Kandoharty sent him a mail informing him of a deposit of $1,000,000.00 into Kan -Cern Limited.
It was this fund, allegedly stopped by IMF, which Balogun made him believe he could pull out for him.
In the course of his dealings with Emelue, Balogun allegedly obtained money in different instalments from him “to obtain certificates from authorities” handling drug, anti-terrorism and money laundering issues.
The suspect is also alleged to have impersonated the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Lamorde and used his name to extort his victm.
But Balogun denies that he impersonated the EFCC Chair.
“I didn’t call myself Lamorde. What I told him was that Lamorde was a Lion and I’m the only tiger that can approach him”, he said.
Several items were recovered from him during a search of his house.
They include documents bearing the names of the State Security Service, SSS; Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN; and Insurance companies among others.
Balogun would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday formally unveiled the new N100 commemorative notes at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The short ceremony which was initially scheduled for last Wednesday did not hold then because of the President’s journey to Burkina Faso.
Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele, joined the President to unveil the note during the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting.
Shortly after presenting the note, Emefiele said it was issued to commemorate the 100 years of the nation’s amalgamation.
He listed some countries that had before now issued currencies to mark epochal events to include Morocco, Russia and Costa Rica among others.
He said the new note was produced with what he described as most advanced security features in the world.
Emefiele listed the design platforms on which the note was made to include security, durability, attractiveness, cultural heritage and transformation.
Jonathan lauded the CBN for coming up with the commemorative note, though it was coming a bit late since activities marking the nation’s centenary had been concluded.
He recalled that commemorative N50 notes were also introduced to mark the nation’s 50th independence anniversary.
Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, also commended the CBN for coming up with the notes.
She specifically lauded the QRC feature on the back of the note.
The code, if scanned with smart phones, leads users to a website where the nation’s history could be accessed.
The minister also raised questions on the amount the CBN will use to print the new notes and whether it would be done locally.
Jonathan however said the questions would be answered when a memorandum on the issue is presented to the council.
